Bangkok Week 819 — Mika's Photos

We discover an amazing, hidden cafe just around the corner with its own little menagerie. The kids are thrilled to have Puu and Yaa come to visit! But then Mum sneaks off for a week, to Washington DC. But everyone is just fine!

Great form of entertainment!

Lucy's favorite part of swimming lessons now is getting to ride the "big bike".

This monkey has found lots of places to practice his gymnastics in the house.

Lucy's a danger to herself now! She can climb to the top of the monkey bars very quickly, very independently.

Special Saturday morning excursion, not too far from home...

... the unassuming ThaiWan cafe on Pridi 26.

Behind the small entry door is a giant property, with a treehouse, fish ponds, peacocks and peahens, and more.

Arlo's first time seeing a peacock in real life - up close. (He did see some at the High Park zoo...)

Home again! Even the transport was fun!

Arlo and Lucy were great helpers, transplanting the lotus and its water (and snails).

Then, Puu and Yaa arrived!

Arlo's a great tour guide.

Lucky Puu and Yaa also got to go watch Arlo swim.

And again, they watched swimming!

Special dinner with Puu and Yaa.

Arlo is excited to still see them both the next morning.

(Lucy, meanwhlie, has gotten herself into an unexplainable twist.)

Arlo has been looking forward to eating "jok" (congee) for breakfast with them. He's been talking about it all week!

A normal Monday in Bangkok...

... but with a special guest at school.

The neighborhood management kept good on their promise, and chopped down all the trees around the pool. Well, on the bright side, we have a very clear view of who's in there now.
