Can you believe it’s August already!? It’s also a long weekend in Thailand, with a holiday Friday and another one the following Tuesday. So after a visit to Safari Garden, we headed down to Trat for the annual merit-making ceremony. The house is coming along slowly but surely; and oh, we think we found the perfect next car!

Welcome back! It's a holiday Friday, and these monkeys are already up to no good. So it's time to get out of the house...
View fullsize
... and to Safari Garden!
View fullsize
We haven't been here in over a year; Lucy was a newborn.
View fullsize
And now, she's courageously sliding down all the slides by herself.
View fullsize
Here comes Arlo. His confidence has increased since last time we were here, too.
View fullsize
And here comes Lucy...
View fullsize
... another successful slide!
View fullsize
Arlo's showing her how to drive the train.
View fullsize
Diligently checking for oncoming traffic.
View fullsize
Lucy's two passengers. Hang on!
View fullsize
Enjoying himself in the sand much more than he used to.
View fullsize
Mum, and her two koalas in a tree fork.
View fullsize
Looking out of the tree house...
View fullsize
...and out toward the swimming pool.
View fullsize
Lucy, another slide?
View fullsize
Arlo's trying his first good old-fashioned see saw. They don't have these at Benchasiri Park!
View fullsize
Lucy's enjoying the tire swing -- and she very quickly figured out how to keep the swing going!
View fullsize
Of his own volition, Arlo scaled the climbing wall.
View fullsize
And the zip line is open for riders! Queueing up patiently...
View fullsize
... getting strapped in...
View fullsize
... and wee! We're off! How fun!
View fullsize
Arlo's decided to pilot himself and Lucy home.
View fullsize
Just kidding! We have two pooped kiddos, neither of whom would have been fit to fly a plane.
View fullsize
A good koala show, with his favorite pal, is always a recipe for R&R.
View fullsize
Lucy's eager to take herself for a walk later.
View fullsize
Uh oh. Someone just woke up with a giant case of bedhead.
View fullsize
Hi Lucy! Hi Dad! Arlo just wants to go for a bike ride before dinner.
View fullsize
Ooh! Look what's growing on a vine down the street.
View fullsize
Bitter melons!
View fullsize
Lucy the monkey, up to her tricks!
View fullsize
Arlo has taken to photography recently.
View fullsize
And he's very good at capturing those candid moments..!
View fullsize
Saturday morning; everyone's up and fresh.
View fullsize
Family of monkeys.
View fullsize
Two monkeys, riding the horse.
View fullsize
We've got our koalas, and we're hitting the road: destination Trat!
View fullsize
Stubborn little Lucy didn't want to nap during the ride, but fell asleep minutes from Puu and Yaa's house.
View fullsize
A greeter has come to welcome Lucy!
View fullsize
Thank you, Bella, for the abrupt awakening!
View fullsize
Lucy wasted no time jumping onto the Trat toys.
View fullsize
Check out the mirror on this trike!
View fullsize
Although her legs aren't yet long enough to pedal, she managed to propel herself forward with 1 foot! Impressive.
View fullsize
Pressure-testing Bella's nose.
View fullsize
Putting the stacking ring on Bella's wrist like a bracelet. Maybe this is why Bella moved to Trat!
View fullsize
Hello, Bella. Are you in there? Are you wishing you weren't?
View fullsize
Lucy was really keen to spend time outside, but it's peak dengue season, and Trat is leading in cases.
View fullsize
Welcome back from the hospital, Dad! 5 stitches and some blood loss later, Dad is patched up and ready to resume his visit.
View fullsize
Feeding some almost-Eucalyptus to the koalas.
View fullsize
Lucy's making herself at home in the bedroom.
View fullsize
Poor Puu spent the whole weekend trying to teach Lucy how to say "Puu".
View fullsize
Monkey Lucy, munching on a foam piece of the sofa.
View fullsize
Night night, boys! It's been a long and eventful day!
View fullsize
The next morning, Arlo wastes no time finding excuses to play with the cats...
View fullsize
... while everyone else gets ready for the merit-making ceremony. Lucy takes a good look at her great-grandparents.
View fullsize
Waiting patiently for the ceremony to start.
View fullsize
Dad, too!
View fullsize
Arlo discovered the delicious sweet, seedless grapes that will be part of the monks' dessert. Yum!
View fullsize
Milk break for tireless Lucy.
View fullsize
Lucy did pretty well being passed around among several new faces.
View fullsize
Hey, she eats the same foam sofa pieces too, Lucy! Imagine that!
View fullsize
Trying some Durian dessert, while waiting for the monks to arrive.
View fullsize
Beginning the ceremony.
View fullsize
And now, with the monks.
View fullsize
Lucy was comfortable taking a front-row seat.
View fullsize
Good job just sitting there, Lucy!
View fullsize
And the part Arlo's been looking forward to all week: tossing the coins!
View fullsize
It's fun for all ages!
View fullsize
Arlo just needs to learn how to through evenly to all people!
View fullsize
Trying out one of the guest's e-bikes. Almost the right size!
View fullsize
And doing a tour of Aa Top's shop.
View fullsize
Helping tidy up: dusting Bella.
View fullsize
To reward them for being so good in the morning, it's a late afternoon trip to Makro... to see the forklifts in action...
View fullsize
... to visit the aquarium...
View fullsize
... and to ride in the giant shopping cart!
View fullsize
Evening milk time!
View fullsize
Lucy's getting a little helping hand from Yaa.
View fullsize
Early Monday morning: everyone's up and ready to hit the road again.
View fullsize
But not before some goodbye photos.
View fullsize
Lucy with her grandparents.
View fullsize
And the same photo, with older monkey Arlo.
View fullsize
And with Aa Top and Bella.
View fullsize
Lucy's enthusiasm is waning.
View fullsize
All together now!
View fullsize
Great smile, Bella!
View fullsize
All packed in, and ready to go.
View fullsize
Very quick pitstop at a posh cafe, so that Arlo could use the toilet.
View fullsize
But so nice, Lucy intended to stay all day!
View fullsize
And finally, back home!
View fullsize
The house around the corner, which has been under renovation for many months now, is almost done -- and going to be a beauty clinic.
View fullsize
Unclear what triggered this creepy expression...
View fullsize
... but he's got something in mind!
View fullsize
Quick trip up to the Toyota dealership to check out the all new Innova Zenix!
View fullsize
Apart from the stylish brown seats, it ticks all the boxes!
View fullsize
Plenty of room in the 3rd row...
View fullsize
And definitely plenty of room in the 2nd row. This looks like a winner!
View fullsize
When we returned home, Arlo was hard at work...
View fullsize
... drawing a really great car!
View fullsize
Lucy's new favorite food, and toy, is ice!
View fullsize
She can also say, "iiiiiiice". Is it cold, Lucy?
View fullsize
Quick visit to the house. The various pipes and tubes are running all through the kitchen.
View fullsize
The new wall dividing the kitchen and the bathroom is up.
View fullsize
The mini-wall dividing the dining area and the kitchen is finished, too.
View fullsize
The new closet area of the master bedroom.
View fullsize
And the master bathroom coming along.
View fullsize
The water boiler is installed; the ceiling will need to be slightly dropped.
View fullsize
Arlo's taking a trip with Dad...
View fullsize
... a nice opportunity to do some car-spotting and get some snacks.
View fullsize
Meanwhile, Mum is off by electric tuk-tuk to run some errands.
View fullsize
The ice cube club...
View fullsize
... both members enthusiastically enjoying their ice cubes.
View fullsize
Chef Arlo is helping Dad cook dinner tonight.
View fullsize
He's doing a great job preparing the greens, carefully selecting them...
View fullsize
... and chopping them up into bite-sized pieces.
View fullsize
But he just can't help himself; let's pretend this is eucalyptus!!
View fullsize
Two important pieces of equipment for our trip arrived today!
View fullsize
Lucy doesn't know what it is, but she's excited, because Arlo is.
View fullsize
Powerful pink for Arlo, and beautiful blue for Lucy.
View fullsize
Party in the bedroom on Thursday morning.
View fullsize
And then Arlo has his 6-month eye check-up.
View fullsize
After a mixed-result wall test, he's looking at the tiny photo of the barn instead.
View fullsize
Now that the pressure to read numbers and letters is gone, Arlo's enjoying himself in the mini-park.
View fullsize
Admiring the tuk-tuk he got after the visit.
View fullsize
And testing out the headphones. Important to get practice in before the flights.
