Bangkok Week 769

What a busy week! Granny arrived late Friday night; we visited the farm after a long hiatus; our baby Lucy turned 1 year old on Monday; and so much fruit arrived from Trat! Happy, happy, happy first birthday, our Little Lucy!

Happy Friday, says little Lucy with a big command of the couch.

She's excited to be back at swimming after a week away.

Do we really have to do cup conditioning, Mum?

It's a tough call: stand and play with the toys, or swim?

Lucy enjoys using the noodle.

Lucy! You're supposed to jump off the mat, just like all your peers.

Well, she had fun today.

Back at home, someone gives a big toothy smile.

Arlo’s excited for the weekend, and is pretending to be a dog.

Comparing their feet — whose are bigger? Lucy’s are wider!

Arlo accompanied Dad on a mission, to prepare for Granny's arrival...

Someone is excited for bed time! She heard that there will be a special guest here when she wakes up in the morning.

And here's Granny, right on cue.

And a game of chase ensues.

Oh my -- what's this? Granny brought 50 kilos of beautiful wooden blocks for Arlo and Lucy.

Lucy finds them slippery t walk on.

But this chair is pretty comfortable!

Arlo and Lucy both are happy to see K. Wan every Saturday morning, too.

Arlo, too! Wastes no time bringing out his entire library for Granny to read.

Arlo's getting more confident with his handstands.

Out for a mid-afternoon walk.

And trying to keep everyone awake with a visit to the farm.

We've only been here once since the time we came with Granny and Grandpa over Christmas.

Trying a novel new activity this time: feeding the chickens.

The chickens are very used to (little) people...

... and Arlo was really into feeding them!

Lucy, on the other hand... interested in the chickens for sure.

Well, he certainly wasn't afraid of the chickens.

Maybe a little too comfortable around them?

The grass was shaded, cool, and dry -- perfect for running around barefoot.

After a bit of warm-up, Lucy really enjoyed it.

Last stop: Arlo's favorite sheep and goats.

They were very hungry... there probably hadn't been many visitors today.

But despite their hunger, they really weren't interested in the dry hay that Arlo was offering.

Then, Granny goes to pick up Arlo from school for the first time this visit.

It's book week, and they've set up the bear cave from "We're Going on a Bear Hunt".

It's dress-up day, our favorite part of book week.

And this is Chrysanthemum, standing confidently in her donut.

Lucy's not sure what's going on.

Chrysanthemum checks her notes to make sure she's got her costume all right.

Chrysanthemum is helping with Arlo and Dainel's construction project, which is still there -- thankfully.

And the Songkran weather is coming -- so it's time to bust out the pool.

Thursday morning: starting the day with a quick neighborhood check.

Oh no! Lucy's distracted by Arlo's big head of hair.

Arlo's intrigued by the shipment of fruit that arrived while he was at school.

Big brother is thoughtfully showing Lucy what a Durian is.
