Bangkok Week 731

I can’t believe it! It’s Arlo’s last week of school already! And it’s the last week of June. Where’s the time gone? We have a great weekend outing to the park, too. Let the good times roll!

Welcome back! Lucy is safeguarding Arlo's new parking lot while he's at school today.

She's also practicing her tummy time.

Back at home, Arlo tells Lucy all about his first day back at school after being sick.

It's a special Friday night dinner! Urban Pantry, supplemented by Arlo's favorite fluffy pita bread.

Saturday morning breakfast challenge: eating muesli with chopsticks.

Heading to the park, for the first time in a long time.

Arlo brought his scooting gear. Let's go!

Well, he's definitely improved since last time we were here...

... but he's still very easily distracted, and so overall speed is, well, slow.

Lucy is enjoying the view; she wasn't nearly this upright in the stroller last time we were here.

Arlo's enjoying just being outside and able to run around. For example, he'd like to hang from a tree please.

And then it was hide-and-seek with Dad for a good while.

Phew, that was an exhausting outing. Lucy throws herself onto the couch upon returning home.

Sunday swimming! It's just Mum and Arlo again, so all we have is this souvenir shot.

Arlo wanted to go to a bakery (to get a cookie) after swimming...

... but the donut shop around the corner from our house is not a bad fallback option.

Looking through a book of cooking ingredients while we wait. How come there's a cactus in here?

Uh oh! It's the last week of school for the school year.

And down she goes! And... she's stuck in this capsized position.

Oh no. Big brother Arlo was talking about this plane all morning... and he hadn't forgotten about it when he got home from school.

But someone looks a little big for it now.

This is the posture of someone who's far too old to be using this.

We call this: distraction by concentration.

Uh oh! Wardrobe change! Lucy looks even older in shorts and a tank top.

Arlo's first successful attempt eating an ice cream cone from start to finish. It clearly starts with some suspicion.

He's recently taken a liking to the baby blanket given to him by Bronwyn almost 3 years ago.

More mealtime concentration for Lucy.

There. Sit back like that, Lucy. It's much easier on the neck and chest.

Arlo brought his learning journey home today. What a nice way to document the school year.

We went to a drop-in playgroup for pre-crawlers called "glow bugs". It was just Lucy's speed.

Cool and dark, colorful lights, soft music. What's not to like?

Even some new textures!

And Dad brought home some special Thai desserts for Arlo to try, from his morning work trip.

It seems the Captain is still living under our roof.

He flies right over Lucy's playmat.

He did what?? asks Lucy.

Everyone's thrilled to be going for an evening walk!

Arlo's stamina for running has certainly gotten really good.

Special pizza dinner, since K. Noi's been out sick.

Getting some final rounds of tummy time in, while Arlo's at his last day of school.

While Mum's gone to pick up Arlo, Lucy's catching some Zzz's on a very comfortable mattress.

He looks like he's waiting for the perfect moment to steal this bike.

First day of school vs. last. Any changes?

Well, our mode of transport has changed!

He can't wait to come home and pilot his plane. I guess, on the other hand, some things never change.

A potential breakthrough? Lucy napped on her own for about 45 minutes like this.

Mum's watching both kids by herself this afternoon. We're deploying many tactics.

Tactic #1: keep all the kids in the crib.

Lucy doesn't seem to mind!

Tactic #2: strap down the kids so they can't go anywhere.

Well, that partially works...

... except for Mr. Sandals here.

Oh no, Lucy. Another wardrobe change!? This one inspired by Santa?

Uh oh! One of these days, she's gonna flip!
