Bangkok Week 712

Arlo had a busy week: and he didn’t even go to school! Swimming, a staycation on the river, a wedding and a boat ride, and lots of activities at home to keep him entertained during the break.

It was a wet Friday at school. Arlo's face says it all!

A huge delivery from Trat arrived, too. So lucky!

Working on one of the Rose Apples from Trat, while having his diaper changed. What a life!

Remember how I said that a heavy downpour killed all the melon sprouts but one?

Oh! Looks like we're going to have another pumpkin flower soon.

Watching K. Noi drive away on her motorcycle. Fascinating.

The next morning, Arlo came out to inspect the pumpkin plant.

Indeed! It's bloomed again!

And now, the highlight of the weekend: swimming class!

Arlo's a little lazy when he's in the noodle. Have to remember to paddle and kick!

Diving for the sinker: Arlo's favorite activity for sure.

Arlo's getting better about floating on his back.

And for the grande finale: standing jumps!

A quick change of clothes, and then a change of scene: spending a night staycationing at the Shangri-La.

We're lucky to have another great view from our room.

And we know what Arlo will be riding all weekend.

Trying warm scones with Dad.

And trying a small bite of everything on Mum's plate.

What do you mean we already swam once today? Let's go again!

Brr! This pool is most definitely colder than Arlo's swimming school pool.

This swim merits an Arlo Burrito, for sure.

And now, we're all ready for our evening event: a wedding on the other side of the river.

Arlo is proud to be wearing such a fancy suit.

But first: a quick stop for dinner on the way out.

And riding the Icon Siam shuttle boat, over to the other side.

Arlo hasn't ridden a boat since last time we were at this hotel!

There's our hotel! Our room is on the very left side of the photo.

So many things to look at!

Here we are: Icon Siam! We haven't been here since the B.A. era.

Smile! And best wishes to the Bride and Groom, on their much-delayed wedding.

Lucky us: we also happened to catch an elaborate fountain-and-ligthts show at 6:30.

I think Arlo was overwhelmed by everything. And tired.

So many people, and so many lights!

Checking out some CNY decorations, before heading home.

Oh! And we got back to the room in time to catch a fireworks show down at Asiatique.

They were a little loud for Arlo's taste.

Enjoying the 5-star life: cozy reading in a big, comfy bed.

It works with Dad, too. Good night!

The next morning, Arlo is up nice and early, to commentate on the activities in the river.

It's a busy morning for barges.

Ooh! Tme for a scrumptious hotel breakfast.

Excited to be eating another rose apple.

Too bad it's so loud and dusty. Otherwise, Arlo could've stayed all afternoon!
