What a busy week! We concluded school portrait week with some family photos; finally celebrated Nancy’s birthday; did lots of swimming. Arlo started his piano lessons; we visited the Peacock Cafe for the first time in a long time; and Arlo went on his long-awaited field trip. But perhaps most importantly… Lucy learned to ride a pedal bike! Go, Lucy! 🚲 🚀

At long last, it's Nancy's 2nd birthday! And Lucy (and Arlo) both had a blast.

The beautiful face painting is by neighbor (and St. Andrews student) Anais.

Arlo saw another kid eating a hotdog in a bun, and asked for just the bun with ketchup.
View fullsize

Cake time!
View fullsize

(Still working on that bun.)
View fullsize

Happy (belated) 2nd birthday, Nancy!
View fullsize

Eating with a fervor reserved uniquely for cakes!

Trying on her new bathing suit... but caught red-handed with Mum's phone!

The evidence.

On our way to swimming, fully dressed!

... while Mum & Arlo head to piano.
View fullsize

Arlo is very, very interested in the grand piano in the lobby.
View fullsize

And a special Sunday afternoon visit to the Peacock Cafe.
View fullsize

The peacocks seem to be stuck in a caged-in area, since they kept running away.
View fullsize

There are several new skywalks that have been built since we were last here.
View fullsize

They had a fun, 8-layer stamp collection activity, throughout their property.
View fullsize

There's a new gallery and shop space, too.
View fullsize

Arlo's completed stamp!
View fullsize

They even had free drawing for kids.
View fullsize

That tired out someone!
View fullsize

Going for a late-afternoon scoot...
View fullsize

... which turned into a cycle...
View fullsize

... and culminated in Lucy learning to ride her pedal bike!!!
View fullsize

Way to go, Lucy!!
View fullsize

Huge accomplishment for a 2-year-old!
View fullsize

So very proud of herself.
View fullsize

Monday morning, let's get this week on.
View fullsize

But where's Arlo?
View fullsize

Poor boy is sick at home with a fever.
View fullsize

When feeling better, he helped Dad clean out the fish bowl.
View fullsize

So many fish! (And that's not all.)
View fullsize

The big day is here! Time for the K2/Y1 field trip!
View fullsize

All aboard!
View fullsize

There was tie-dye.
View fullsize

Natural dyes, of course.
View fullsize

And clay sculpting.
View fullsize

And hand-washing!
View fullsize

And the crowning glory...

... very, very muddy rice planting!
View fullsize

Well kudos to everyone for going in!
View fullsize

Enjoying the nature.

Somehow, Arlo and classmates still had energy for football!
View fullsize

And some flying time.

Emptying our recycling stash.
View fullsize

And on the look-out for bad guys.
View fullsize

View fullsize

Lucy is really into socks, these days. Which takes some time.
View fullsize

Arlo made a transformer out of Legos. All by himself!
View fullsize

The biker gang is augmented by one, today.
View fullsize

Lucy, that helmet looks too big for you.
View fullsize

Goofy bedtime with Dad!
View fullsize

Enjoying the empty garden in the morning.
View fullsize

Hah! Of course this happened. And we'd been keeping our eye on the odometer for hundreds of kilometers leading up to this!

Flopping out of Thursday. See you next week!
