Bangkok Week 729 — Mika's Photos

Arlo had a busy weekend: there was an exciting open-house hosted at his school. Then he had a great swimming lesson on Sunday (which Dad was able to join). And if that weren’t enough, he was given a beautiful new cactus! Meanwhile, Lucy is diligently practicing her tummy time!

And this is Lucy's newest favorite toy: her first! Oh-so-yummy.

Saturday morning: we have a busy day ahead! Arlo's on point for waking up Lucy.

Time to get up, sleepy head! (Lucy's content to sleep in; it's Saturday, after all!)

Arlo's school is hosting an open-house (for current students) at the older campus.

The theme is "Enchanted Forest", and everything is decorated accordingly.

After acclimating himself, Arlo heads to...

... the food zone. One ice cream cone, please!

And Arlo met a little birdie...

... who sat comfortably on Arlo's shoulder.

And he got a special glitter tattoo...

... that lasted the better part of a week!

Lucy attended as well; her view of the school looked good, too.

... and down the slide! This slide is bigger than the one at Blu Bam Boo.

They even have a floor-level trampoline!

Touring some of the classrooms (and the connecting spaces).

Oh my. Arlo chose an extremely green cupcake.

Eating this without making a big, sticky mess is a serious endeavor.

Well, that went about as well as we could have hoped!

Then, Arlo sat down to make a magic wand with all his favorite TAs.

Arlo chose the feather colors.

And he helped add the ribbon and sparkly pipe cleaners... in a nice concentrated wrap on the top. Done!

Oh. My. Goodness. They have a road roller at this school. And a grader. This school is the best!

Look at this. The grader is actually a monster truck, and has jumped up on top of the road roller.

Arlo has found his niche.

Back at home, it's time for some exercise for Lucy!

Dad and Arlo are assembling the DIY enchanted house that Arlo brought home from the school event.

Uh oh! Indian food for dinner. Arlo was a good sport and tried some. He liked the bread.

Speaking of swimming... Arlo moved to the Sunday class now.

And he's decided to wear this stylish swimming cap. To help him "swim very very deep"! Let's see.

Since he saw a video of a color-changing chameleon, Arlo's become very interested in chameleons, too. Reading up on them in his picturepedia.

And Arlo turns 2 years and 9 months today! What a big boy!

Oh my. Oh my oh my. Arlo got a new cactus from Ba Gai next door. It's his new best friend. It eats with us at the table, sits next to him on the couch for story time. Oh my!
