Bangkok Week 709

A lower-key week this time: Arlo’s settling into the rhythm of school, still enjoying swimming, and mastering the playground.

Everyone's gotten comfortable with the school drop-off / pick-up routine now.

And Bella's gotten especially comfortable in her bed, enjoying the peace and quiet while Arlo's out.

Friday night is a great time to lay down rail road tracks.

Arlo's figured out how to assemble the bridge!

Arlo's all ready for his lesson! Is it time yet?

Here's Arlo!

Practicing his kicks. (And no, that doesn't get you out of kicking for the rest of the lesson.)

Using the U-shaped noodle -- we haven't done this in a while.

Going for an afternoon walk to explore the broader neighborhood.

Arlo's got to learn to navigate all the sidewalk obstacles sooner or later.

Now we're in Ekkamai 14, which is the soi that runs behind our house.

This is Astra Academy, the new Primary & Secondary school right behind our house.

They have a fairly green, but also futuristic campus.

Interesting architecture! It's their first year open, but they don't have the oldest grades yet.

Stopping at a nearby commercial plaza on the way home.

So many colors!

Watching as the construction elevators (more properly called 'boiler hoists' apparently) travel up the tall condos under construction.

And there's a new Korean convenience store just around the corner, too.

Arlo couldn't figure out what to get...

... so we tried some DIY tteokbokki.

Ending the day the same way we started it: with a story, at the couch.

While getting dressed on Sunday morning, Arlo found the bag of hand-me-down clothes from Sally. What a cutie.

And off to the park, before it's too hot!

Arlo's a pro at this playground now.

Having a rest, at a very convenient spot.

Arlo likes the tall slide, but it's hard to get to the top without running into other kids!

Time for a rest!

Arlo enjoys walking along the "train tracks".

During his afternoon walk, Arlo spotted the marks from a neighbor's power washer...

..."Who drew this!?" Arlo demands to know!

Inspecting the Pomelo seedlings. Anymore hungry caterpillars munching our leaves?

The melon sprouts are thriving. Now, where to transplant them?

Ready to head home at the end of a school day.

Every day but Friday, Arlo came running out to greet us.

Enjoying the walk home (while it's still cool enough to do it!)

Getting in an early-evening walk before bed.
